As the field of ABA grows, there is a great need to assure the provision of quality services. Those who are dedicated to the field have developed a Board in order to set standards for the field. This board, known as the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) has been established in order to regulate and certify individuals who engage in Applied Behavior Analysis on a voluntary basis. BACB is a non-profit organization. There are two levels of credentialing, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst (BCABA). The process involves completion of preapproved coursework, supervised experience, and an exam. Certificants are required to undergo ongoing training in order to maintain their status.
