Focus on the individual child.

Conducting an accurate, comprehensive, and appropriate assessment is an integral part of our behavioral program and forms the basis for developing an appropriate intervention plan for each child referred. We believe that a good assessment looks at the child and their behavior holistically, integrating behavioral data with information about the child's social, educational, medical, and psychological history and present circumstances. Our assessments utilize standardized assessment tools such as the Pervasive Developmental Disorders Behavior Inventory (PDDBI, Cohen & Sudhalter), direct observation and clinical analysis, reviews of past assessments, and in-depth parent interviews to fully understand the nature, severity, and impact of problem behaviors and developmental deficits as well as the resources and skills available to support behavior management and skill building.
