Focus on early intervention and intensive support.

Some children require more intensive intervention than can be provided through a Behavior Management program. Early, intensive intervention can be very helpful in mitigating the overall impact of Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Intensive intervention is also sometimes needed to address serious behavior problems or to develop complex new skills, such as toilet training. Intensive intervention services typically involve more direct service time each week, over a longer period of time than our Behavior Management services. Parent involvement in learning behavior strategies, implementing them when the Behavior Interventionist is not there, and monitoring and recording data on targeted behaviors and skills is still critical to the success of the program.
